PIM Sync

A private, self-hosted tool that keeps an Owner's own Google Contacts, Calendar, and Tasks mirrored to their personal information management (PIM) server.

What it is

PIM Sync is a self-hosted synchronization tool with two roles. The Operator (Privacy Playbook LLC) provides the software; an Owner runs their own instance, connects their own Google account, and keeps their Google Contacts, Calendar, and Tasks in sync with a self-hosted PIM system — an LDAP contact directory and a Radicale CalDAV/CalDAV-tasks server.

It is a self-hosted tool, not a hosted public service: the Operator supplies only the software and never has access to an Owner's data, which stays entirely on the Owner's own servers. There is no shared service and no third-party access to anyone's data. (Today it is run by its developer for personal use.)

How PIM Sync uses Google data

PIM Sync requests only the scopes it needs to mirror the three data types it manages, plus a read-only identity check. In every case the data is the Owner's own:

Where the data goes

An Owner's data is synchronized only between Google and servers the Owner controls. It is never sold, never shared with third parties, never used for advertising, and never used to train machine-learning models — and the Operator never has access to it. See the PIM Sync Privacy Policy for full detail, including the role definitions and the Google API Limited Use commitment.
